Antebellum South Cruise

June 10, 2008

My Wife and I did the Antebellum South Cruise with USA River Cruises for our 30th Anniversary! We had the best time, the sevice was fantastic the meals wonderful and made with local cousine, the entertainment good, cabin larger than we imagined and decorated with beautiful yet practicle sense. The Ports of call were wonderful, Savannah was our favorite with all the history of the plantations, the southern hospitality and the food, we even got to eat at Paula Deans famous resturant which was the high light of my wifes trip!! On our Anniversary the staff brought at chapagne and a wonderful cake for us all and sang to us. We met some of the nicest people some of whom we are going to plan another cruise with for 2009. USA river cruises also took all the hassle out of our trip, when our plane was delayed they called the transfer company and the hotel and made sure they were there to pick us up even though we were delayed 4 hours! When we returned our agent Cindy called us to make sure everything went well the follow up was great and so were the cookies they sent us 2 weeks later, what a crew and what service, we have highly recommeneded them to all our friends and relatives.

American Spirit-May 2008

August 2007 American Queen cruise was “fantastic!”

May 31, 2008

mariettaohio027_250.jpgWe loved being on the American Queen, relaxing on the deck and watching small town America go by, when we stopped we got off the ship and visited many of these charming small cities with some of the nicest folk around. We found each and every stop filled with rich history and very friendly people. Many of the tours were educational and the guides were all local and full of information. The cabins were wonderful and we even had a full bath tub in our bathroom, something you hardly ever see on big ships.

What we liked most was getting to know the staff and the passengers, because there are no crowds or lines you really get to talk with everyone and make lifelong friends as we did. If we were to say one word to describe our cruise it was fantastic!!! We had so much fun, that we booked another cruise with USA River Cruises for the Columbia River this summer and we can’t wait to take it!!!

Cruising restored his faith in his country and its people

March 12, 2008

mariettaohio027_350.jpgWarren and I met on a cruise from Cincinnati to Pittsburgh late last year, he was on his way to the Library in Maysville, KY to write a little journal of his travels to send out to all his friends and family.Warren had already been on many cruises and had loved each and everyone, and just wanted to share his wonderful experiences.

You see Warren had outlived two wives and decided to take his own destiny in his hands and see the world, as he put it he was just waiting to die when a friend said take a cruise, so he did and had been cruising ever since (about 4 yrs.)

Warren really liked the river cruises because he became part of everyone’s family and us his, it was a good way to see our beautiful country and really get to know the people. Warren had said to me that seeing America this way really restored his faith in our country and its people. He made hundreds of friends over his 4 1/2 years and he took 46 cruises.

Warren was my idol; he lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute of it! His son Steve said he is now in that big cruise ship in the sky!!
